Our day began when they took us to Signal Hill which overlooks the city below. The one think that shocked me the most is that the million dollar homes leading up the hill had oil rigs in their back yards. Never thought I would see that! They were all over and Doug and I just couldn’t believe our eyes.
From there MaryAlice and Terry took us to this huge fantastic park where we fed various ducks and geese. Terry was a tad worried when I let them eat of my hand because he thought they might bite me. 🙂 Having raised Macaws and various other parrots, I was in Heaven. One white goose felt safe enough for me to reach out and give him some loving. T’was very cool.
Then we headed off to get changed, and we made our way to Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament.
“In myth and in legend, the Knight and the horse are forever linked. Few things are held in such great esteem by the Medieval warrior than a stalwart horse, who possesses the bold courage of his master and the quiet strength of his ancestors.”
I have never seen anything like that in my life!!!!!!! Great friends…. and HORSES… what more could a girl like me ask for 🙂 The show was jaw dropping. In our section, we were cheering for our own Knight dressed in black and white. At one point he came out and was tossing flowers into the crowd. We were sitting on the upper level, and like a baseball star he tossed a white carnation right into my hands. Can ya see me smiling?
Oh and the food was amazing! We took so many pictures, but I think a video we caught may give you a better idea of how thrilling it was to be there.
Just when I thought I had been spoiled to the moon and back, MaryAlice gave me another special birthday gift. I couldn’t stop crying! I will cherish for as long as I live.
MaryAlice McNeice Williams… if you are reading this, I could never express what joy you gave me that night! I felt like a princess. The entire time Doug and I spent with you and Terry are moments we will hold dear forever. I am sooooooo glad we will be seeing you again shortly. You are an angel…. and Terry…. well he makes us smile, and we both think he is such a sweetie! I love that we are friends…. very very special friends!
Hello again Bonnie! Yes we are very blessed. Blessed to have so many wonderful friends… and blessed that many of the new ones we are making face to face are people I have been talking to on Face Book for many years. Isn’t MaryAlice beautiful! Ya know….. the second we saw her… Doug was a tad worried. I have really struggled with the loss of my mother, and MaryAlice looks like her, laughs like her, dresses like her….. It was surreal! She and her husband Terry went above and beyond to make us feel at home, and show us things that we might find interesting about L.A. Her husband as I have said is a walking human google! SERIOUSLY! Fantastic people and we had the time of our lives! Cheers for now…Sherry
I have never seen anything like it! I have been to Vegas and have never seen a show. This was really something, and I had a blast! Will keep in touch Kath. Hugs
